I wonder....

What do the people up North do when it snows, ices and blows like this? I assume they have this weather all of the time. Do they close down their schools? Does life come to a stop? Do they go to school half way through the summer to make up for snow days? Don't get me wrong, I am thankful that my co-workers that live out of town do not have to try to get in to school. I was just wondering how the rest of the nation handles it.

Good point...I've thought about that here in Ohio many times. They are freakishly skittish about any amount of snow and cancel or at least delay school at the sight of two flakes on a fencepost. Hope you get out of the deep freeze pretty soon. And I agree about snow on Christmas & then it should just go away until the next Christmas. Snow in January is just plain yucky.

Matt flew back to OK from our vow renewal here in VA on Christmas Eve. Spent the night in Cinncinnati airport because the airports in OK were closed. Blizzard. He got home finally the day after Christmas. They dont really get snow there so they really have no snow removal equipment. Airports and Highways were closed for 2 days :(

You should ask Kelly!!

She said when she grew up, they really closed school only when the buses wouldn't start (due to the extreme cold), never because of snow.
